Description

2002 BMW 325Ti Compact

This is a great car thats only up for sale, as I'm not really using it, due to just being too difficult to get a baby seat in & out of the back every morning, with my bad back!!!

I have owned this car for a year and covered about 7500 miles, so will give you an honest description - including what the previous ebay seller didn't mention!!!

2.5 Straight six engine with Manual 'box.

Mileage is just over 159k - there is quite a bit of history - only 2 previous owners - the first one an older gent, from new to a couple of years ago, did a lot of motorway miles.

It has MOT until 28th November 2019 - so 9 months remaining.

Taxed to the end of Feb so happy to take you for a drive if you're quick!

It's a great car, but really needs someone with a day or two to spend on it - although I've been happily driving it how it is, when I get the chance!

Bad bits...

1) It needs a replacement FSR (front stage resistor), which I have and is included. Prob take an hour or two to fit (plugs in under the dash). Fuses currently out to stop the heater blower from staying on and leaving a flat battery (made that error!), which does mean there is no heating/aricon at the mo - though it ll works perfectly with the fuses back in!

2) The handbrake will need some attention - a few days after the MOT it seemed to fail, (on just the drivers side, I think). Holds the car on the flat, but I would always leave it in gear anyway. Occasionally you can hear it knocking on the divers rear wheel, but most of the time it drives with no noise, as it should! I had a local place take a quick look and they said there was nothing visually obvious or unsafe.

3) The car does use/loose quite a lot of engine oil. The last owner failed to point this out to me! I've been keeping it topped up, but again, had a local place take a look and they said it needs the breather assembly (CCV) doing and a rocker gasket. Easily achievable on the drive, but can be a bit labour intensive apparently!!!

There are also a couple of dents (one each side) and the paint has quite a few scratches and a lot of swirlmarks - but no rust and it cleans up ok and looks good from 6 feet away!!!!

The car drives absolutely great, it's a really nice place to sit, comfortable half leather seats (in excellent condition - not showing the mileage like most BMW seats), excellent 5 speed manual gearbox and silky smooth 2.5 litre straight six engine.

More economical than I expected - easy 30mpg when enjoying yourself - I've seen 37mpg without trying!!!

Electric front windows, electric heated mirrors (working), decent oem stereo with a bluetooth upgrade so can play audio from your device and be used for phone calls on the move - works really well! Auto dim mirror, opening (flap out) rear windows (though I've never opened them), ISOfix in the rear, loads of airbags all around the front, traction control that can be turned off (two levels, slightly off & completely off!!!).

Everything works, as far as I am aware!!!

Bits I've done during the last year include...

Two new front tyres on purchase (something else the previous seller failed to mention) - Continental Premium Contact 5 (A rated wet).

Aircon - recharge & anti-bac clean last summer and still blows ice cold - though the heater blower needs a new front stage resistor, which I have and is included!

New wipers.

New headlight bulbs - GE Megalight Ultra H7 - +130%!!!

New right rear flexi brake hose & part of the solid line where it attaches - replaced last July.

New ignition coil (cylinder 1), when it developed a misfire - 04/11/18

Also replaced all 6 spark plugs and the air filter - 04/11/18

Two new rear tyres (budget-ish) for MOT.

This really is a fun car to drive wih great handling and I can see why so many end up on the track.

If I had the time, I would strip this and track it, but I don't think the baby would enjoy that!!!
